Penn Yan is a village of about 5,000, situated on the north end of Keuka Lake, in Yates County. It was named for its early Pennsylvania and Yankee settlers.

In 2018, the Village of Penn Yan was awarded a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative Grant. This already charming village will see some improvements within the downtown area, as well as the Parks and Outlet Trail.
