GAR Associates has named David M. Barnett a partner.
Certified by New York State as a general real estate appraiser, Barnett has been with GAR since 2004 and serves as president of GAR’s Government Division. He has also earned the SRA designation (Senior Residential Appraiser) from the Appraisal Institute, a global professional association of real estate appraisers, with nearly 17,000 professionals in almost 50 countries. David is currently working on obtaining his MAI designation (Member Appraisal Institute) from the institute as well.
“We’re fortunate to have Dave join our ownership group with his dedication to GAR and the real estate valuation and consulting industry,” said GAR Commercial Division President Ronald J. Rubino, MAI. “He brings a wealth of appraisal, mass valuation and IT knowledge along with unique management and leadership skills. His knowledge and experience working across the entire State, including the Capital and Downstate regions, have brought us new clients and opportunities.”
Barnett has appraised property throughout New York State, including commercial, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, single and multi-family, and vacant land.
“GAR Associates has built an exceptional track record, with over 60 years in the appraisal and real estate valuation services fields,” Barnett said. “I am excited to be taking on this new role as we expand the firm’s footprint nationally in the real estate appraisal, valuation services and real estate software solutions market segments.”
Barnett, who is based at GAR’s Capital District office in Clifton Park, is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia.
“After 17 years dedicated to GAR, we are so pleased Dave has joined us as a partner,” said GAR Co-President Government Division F. Cindy Baire. “Dave’s loyalty and devotion to the company and GAR clients have made this accomplishment a natural progression in his career. We look forward to Dave’s continued commitment to GAR’s vision and mission as we celebrate our 60th anniversary in the real estate appraisal and consulting business.”
